Living Stone Kirkers,
The autumn is a wistful season. The emerald greens transform into leafy flames of fiery reds, yellows, and oranges. Warmth is subdued by cold. The bright days become dusky mists. But it is also a time of harvest feasting. For Christians, autumn really accentuates the "already not yet" that we live in. We long for the culmination of the New Creation which awaits us, and in the shades of this "little while" of patient waiting we feast in hope, eagerly awaiting that final harvest of souls when Christ shall come to judge the living and the dead. Autumn really should encourage us. However, while we must not be carried off with any sentiment that the seasons tend to bring, we should learn the lessons which God has for us to learn in the turning of the seasons.
I'd like to remind you that 43% of our congregation is under 10. Here's a handy demographic chart for folks that like those sorts of things. I bring this up to remind parents especially to diligently teach your children to do their duty to consider one another. Don't make other people parent your kids before, during, and after church or church events. Coach your kids to come to the snack table, or potluck line, or chocolate bucket with dignified selflessness. We must be able to simultaneously delight and beam with joy upon this horde of little saints, as well as forbidding a "kids will be kids" mentality from creeping in to our thinking.
With that, here are several events I hope you're able to join in as able and as appropriate. This Sunday is potluck Sunday, and we are aiming to do it outdoors at Ghormley. Might need to bring that cardigan and a large vat of apple cider! But we hope you can join...

Lewiston Door Knocking
Saturday, Sept 26 · 12:30 p.m. · Sunset Park, Lewiston
 Door knocking continues each Saturday, getting folks motivated to vote NO on Prop 1! This law would reintroduce abortion to Idaho in a more extreme way than even California. We must work to defeat this thing.
New volunteers come at 12:30 for a quick training session; door knocking starts at 1:00.

Monthly Potluck
Join us for our monthly potluck right after the service! We will meet at Ghormley Park. There's a playground, pickleball courts, and plenty of space for yard games. Bring chairs & blankets for seating. This month we will have BREAKFAST/BRUNCH. Join us as we eat together, fellowship, and sing psalms. We hope to see you there!

Lastly, please be praying for Josh Edgren and myself, as well as our wives, as we travel to Nashville next week for CREC Council. There are weighty matters that the church of our day needs to manfully and faithfully address, and we are grateful to be amidst a denomination that takes that task seriously. But we and all the other delegates need your prayers so that we honor the Lord Jesus.
